Hadley is 6 months!

Well, today is a big milestone my beautiful girl.  You're half a year old today!  I am in denial that this day has come.  It has absolutely flown by and I can't stop time, even though I want to!  Here's what's been going on this month.

YOU

  •  are 26 inches tall!!!!
  • like to gargle
  • laugh a little more
  • get really excited when we pull out a bottle
  • like to bite a toy or blanket, you practically try to eat them all
  • can creep forward and change directions
  • will eat any type of food we set in front of you. Literally. Such a little piggy :)
  • can stand while holding onto something
  • sit for a little while before tipping over
  • still put everything in your mouth
  • can say "mamamamama" which I can only assume is directed at me :)  But, your second favorite word is "babababa" (aka brother) and you actually direct that at Wilkes purposefully it seems.  So, it may be a tie as to your first word. I still say "mama" was :)
  • love your blankie when going to sleep
  • don't like anything on your feet or covering your legs
  • look just like you brother at his age

Hadley Sleeps Alone

Big adventures have been happening in the Hewitt house. Hadley has been transitioned from sleeping beside mama every night to sleeping in her own room in her own bed. Now, some of you may say 'about time!' Others 'my kids slept with me until they were one.' Will said, "it's time. It's either me or her." And for mom, it was a tough call!

So, the plan was Mom was going out of town for 3 days on business and that's when it was going to happen.  I had to be out of the house or else no progress was going to be made (so sad).  And, so the first night comes and goes and Daddy said you did just fine!  Second night comes and goes and again Daddy says "she did great."  It was starting to make me feel bad, like I was the cause of you not being able to do it.  And, when mommy came back home, that next night was DISASTROUS!  I could hear you screaming up stairs and so Daddy made me put ear plugs in so I wouldn't get involved.

We've since been able to successfully transition you to your bed fully and sometimes you make it through the whole night, others you'll wake up.  But, we are working on it.  Just remember Hadley, when your older and end up in therapy it was MOMMY who wanted to come get you from your bed! :)
